Founded by Bengono Bessala in 2025, after spending almost a decade at HarperCollins Publishers where she worked in marketing and publicity before becoming a senior commissioning editor, working on Sunday Times Bestselling non-fiction, as well as on fiction and children’s publishing.
Bengono was selected as a Bookseller Rising Star in 2020, and has always been a champion for diversifying and demystifying the publishing industry.
What I’m looking for
For non-fiction, I love hearing from ‘new experts’. This can be anyone whose expertise comes from a new field that needs to be discovered by readers.
Writers or creators who use their platforms to share a message that they believe can positively change our world and the way we live.
In fiction, I represent literary and commercial work, and I’m looking for authentic voices, that reflect the world and age that we live in.
For children and YA, I’m looking for the teenage experience, adventure, dystopia, mystical creatures (werewolves, vampires etc…) and future shifting ideas.
I really encourage submissions from women and writers from underrepresented groups.
